Lawrence S. Huffman
In August 2019, HK&B lost the last of the founding members of its predecessor firm. Lawrence S. Huffman was licensed as an attorney in 1958, and, along with F. Wemmer Gooding and John R. Evans, established this firm’s predecessor in 1962. Over a long, storied, and accomplished legal career, Lawrence assisted thousands of clients with a variety of complex legal issues. Over 60 years of legal practice allowed Lawrence to develop an extensive understanding of advocating for clients who had encountered every legal issue from complex business disputes to pain and suffering or a loss because of medical negligence. Lawrence’s knowledge extended into probate, domestic relations, and civil litigation.
He was a 1958 graduate of Ohio Northern University’s College of Law with distinction and a member of the Willis Society and was admitted to practice law in Ohio as well as the United States District Court, Northern District of Ohio, and the United States Supreme Court.
Lawrence was the longtime Prosecuting Attorney for both Lima and Allen County. He was a member of the Allen County Bar Association, the Ohio Bar Association, Defense Research and U.S. Trial Lawyers Association, and was a Fellow in the prestigious American College of Trial Lawyers. Lawrence served three years in the United States Marine Corps (1950-1953). Lawrence resided in Lima, Ohio, with his wife Shirley.
