Matthew H. Huffman was born in Lima, Ohio and graduated high school from Lima Central Catholic. He attended the University of Dayton as an undergraduate, where he double majored in accounting and finance and graduated cum laude. After graduating from the University of Dayton, Matthew became licensed as a Certified Public Accountant and worked as an Audit Associate with Deloitte & Touche.
In 2013 Matthew left public accounting to attend law school at the University of Cincinnati College of Law, where he was an associate member of the Law Review and a volunteer in the Entrepreneurship and Community Development Clinic and Volunteer Income Tax Assistant program. Matthew graduated magna cum laude from law school and was named a member of the Order of the Coif and the Dean’s Honor List.
Matthew focuses his legal practice in the areas of corporate law and civil litigation, including personal injury and wrongful death cases. In his corporate law practice, Matthew focuses in the areas of commercial transactions, business formation, business divorces, and mergers and acquisitions. He advises clients on a broad range of transactional issues, including corporate governance matters and various contract issues. Throughout all areas of his practice, he uses his broad legal and financial background to resolve complicated issues in a practical manner.
Prior to joining HK&B in 2018, Matthew worked for the Cincinnati law firm of Frost Brown Todd. He and his wife, Paige (a Shawnee High School alum), and their children, Grace, Henry, and Archie, can typically be found enjoying one of Lima’s local parks or downtown establishments.
